Green Acre: A Bahá’í Center of Learning
Friends from around the corner and around the globe, from all different backgrounds and experiences, gather together at Green Acre to explore how we can become agents of positive change.
Green Acre is a space for learning, consultation,
action, and reflection.
Green Acre, a historic educational center and conference venue on the banks of the Piscataqua River in Eliot, Maine, is an institution under the guidance of the Regional Bahá’í Council of the Northeast. It was founded by Sarah Farmer in 1894; ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, one of the Central Figures of the Bahá’í Faith and the son of its Founder, Bahá’u’lláh, visited its grounds in 1912 during His travels in America.
At Green Acre, we are building community through the pursuit of truth and justice. We are a faith-based organization centered on the teachings of Bahá’u’lláh and the message that the oneness of humanity is a strength we can unite around for the advancement of civilization.
With guidance from Bahá’í texts and principles as well as scientific and scholarly works, and with our commitment to a recognition and awareness of the realities of our own community, we aim to learn, collaborate, and transform society alongside you.
